Joan Palmiter Bajorek

Joan Palmiter Bajorek is a doctoral student at the University of Arizona in the Second Language Acquisition and Teaching (SLAT) Program on a Graduate College Fellowship. Her dissertation research focuses on L2 educational technology and data-driven improvements for better student outcomes, including speech recognition software and corpus-informed materials. Her work specifically focuses on L2 pronunciation development in her languages of specialization, French, Spanish, and English. In 2016, she earned an MA in Linguistics from the University of California, Davis focusing on Second Language Acquisition and Spanish heritage identity through L2 pronunciation. Prior, she worked for the French Ministry of Education in Toulouse, France and received her French BA and graphic design BFA from the University of Washington.
